Storm Ciara hasn't been too kind to the SSW Winter Series lately, with the loss of the Roadford Rocket and most recently the Channel Chop due to the poor weather. However, we do have some good news!

The Roadford Rocket has been rearranged for Saturday the 28th March and in the spirit of getting as much sailing into the series as possible, the race will count towards the series results and the CMPR Club Championship.

This means that the SSW Winter Series 2019-20 will now end a week later than expected, with the prize-giving taking place after the Roadford Rocket on the 28th March.

Arrangements for the Roadford Rocket & Prize Giving

WE ARE RESTARTING ENTRIES FOR THE ROCKET - EVEN IF YOU PREVIOUSLY ENTERED, PLEASE COMPLETE A NEW ENTRY HERE, IT WON'T TAKE A MINUTE!

Thanks to a wet autumn, Roadford lake has lots of water this year, which will make this fantastic sailing venue even better for 2020! The 2.5hr Roadford Rocket will have a 12pm first start on the 28th March and the updated NOR and SIs will go up on our website soon.

Catering will be provided on-site before (butties, tea and coffee) and after (hot chicken curry/multibean chilli) sailing by SW Lakes Lakeside Cafe. As always, there will be race prizes sponsored by Allen Sailing, a prize draw for a launching trolley by Admiral Trailers. Race prizes will be followed by the Series prizes, including awarding the first ever SSW Winter Series Club Championship prize sponsored by CPMR!!

For those who want to make a weekend of it, there will be two back to back handicap races at Roadford on Sunday 29th March starting at 11.30.

The Exmoor Beastie and Torbay Tornado

There are two more SSW Winter Series races to take place before Roadford. The Exmoor Beastie at Wimbleball SC is a 3hr pursuit race on the 15th March, and the 2.5hr Torbay Tornado is at Royal Torbay YC on the 21st March. Entries for the Beastie will be taken on the day. You can enter the Tornado on the RTYC website in advance to get a £5 discount on your entry fee - to enter see www.chipperfieldprojects.co.uk/rtyc/index.php

We hope see lots of you at these final three races!
