INLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
The Melges/Quantum Sails Zenda Team was onsite supporting youth sailors at the 2021 ILYA X Boat Championship. More than 100 teams competed in the event July 29-31 in Pewaukee, WI. The new Quantum Sails were fast finishing top of the fleets throughout the six races. The Championship titles were awarded to Jimmy Hughes and John Kotovic (Junior Fleet) and Kamron Kaiser and Peter Goggins (Senior Fleet).

FOILING FIRST
The U.S. SailGP Team hosted its first Learn to Foil camp with the Bristol Yacht Club and East Bay Sailing Foundation July 20-21 as it kicked off Foiling First. The two-day camp introduced 35 community youth and coaches to foiling on the Skeeta and Nikki through extensive individual coaching sessions, safety briefings, and equipment overviews. The Zenda Team took the Melges 15s west for the Columbia Gorge One-Design Regatta hosted by the Columbia Gorge Racing Association July 31-August 1. Sailors traveled from as far as Florida to experience the legendary venue known for its stiff breeze and extraordinary views.

ACT 4: ITALIAN MELGES 24 TOUR
The second event of the European Sailing Series 2021 finished with nine races July 23-25. Garda played tricks, showing both the usual face and presenting tricky conditions for the Melges 24 fleet of eighteen teams from nine countries. Three days of racing and three different leaders, where Estonian Tõnu Tõnistes team on Lenny managed to climb to the top on the final day, taking the overall and Corinthian victories.

STATE OF THE CLASS WITH LAURA GRONDIN
