2023 Lifetime Achievement Awards

The Lifetime Achievement Awards will kick off this years Wooden Boat Festival on Thursday, September 7, at 5:30 PM!

This annual event recognizes exceptional contributions to the wooden boat community. For almost 15 years, we have celebrated people who have made wooden boating what it is! This years honorees are:

Ray Speck

Ray learned lapstrake boatbuilding in 1972, working with Jack Lowther and David Winspear in Whitby, England. Though it was only a few weeks of exposure, he witnessed enough to set up shop on the waterfront of Sausalito, CA...
