Sussex Yacht Club is delighted to announce that entries are open for the 2025 Royal Escape Race.

Join us on 23rd May for the 45th edition of this historic race. This is your chance to follow the route taken by King Charles II from Brighton to Fécamp in 1651, in company with fellow sailors from Sussex and beyond.

Entry includes a Yellow Brick tracker, so friends and family can keep track of your race, and free mooring at Fécamp.

Prizes are on offer for multiple classes, as well as short-handed boats, family crews, motor sailors and more.

There will be an informal prize-giving at our French partner club, Société des Régates Fécamp, on Saturday afternoon, followed by the first ever "Sailing's got talent" from 18:30 local, ahead of an evening party for all competitors and supporters.

The formal prize-giving will be at SYC on Saturday 14 June at 7pm. Sponsor prizes will be on offer as well as classic trophies, and the event will feature buffet food and themed casual dress.

Click here for Royal Escape entries and here for prize-giving tickets.

See you on 23rd May 2025!
