On June 1st, Venice will host the start of the 5th edition of the "Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour" - the "Italy Sailing Race," organized by Difesa Servizi in collaboration with the Navy and SSI, to promote the values and brand of the Navy through sailing sport.

Born with the aim of bringing together the three main disciplines of sailing - offshore, inshore, and board - the 2025 edition of the Tour will depart from Venice during the Nautical Salon today, June 1st, and will run until July 13th, with the final stage in Genoa. The race will also stop in Cattolica (June 2-5), Vieste (June 6-10), Brindisi (June 11-15), Catanzaro (June 16-19), Syracuse (June 20-23), Trapani (June 23-28), Cagliari (June 30 - July 3), and La Maddalena (July 4-8).

The race will depart from Venice today, June 1st at 12:00 PM, following the opening ceremony scheduled for 10:30 AM at the Submarine Stage inside the Nautical Salon. Attending the opening ceremony will be the Deputy Chief of Italian Navy, Admiral Giuseppe Berutti

Bergotto, the CEO of Difesa Servizi Spa, Dr. Luca Andreoli, the President of SSI, Dr. Riccardo Simoneschi, and the Regional President of FIV, Dr. Anna Giacomello.

The 5th edition of the Giro dell'Italia a vela, through the concept "Italy seen from the Sea", is not only a sporting event, but a celebration of the beauty, culture, and values of our country. With a strong focus on sustainability and the enhancement of traditions, the initiative represents an opportunity to unite coastal communities and celebrate Italianness in all its forms, thanks also to the support of Enit, the main partner of the tour. The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour in this 5th edition boasts the presence of five foreign teams, confirming the international scope of the event, placing the noble sport of sailing at the center, which, thanks also to the assignment of the America's Cup 2027 to Naples, regains centrality in Italy and marks a historic moment for sailing in a country surrounded by the sea and at the center of the Mediterranean. And it is precisely in the Mediterranean that these days the most beautiful ship in the world, the Amerigo Vespucci, having concluded the world tour with an extraordinary success, is sailing up the coasts of our country towards Genoa. For two years, the Navy training ship was an Ambassador of Made in Italy, touching all the continents and it is with great pride that its flag is represented on all the gennakers of the boats of the Nastro Rosa Tour.

The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour places the noble sport of sailing at its core. Thanks also to the awarding of the 2027 America's Cup to Naples, sailing is regaining prominence in Italy and marks a historic moment for the sport in a country surrounded by the sea.

The race bears the name and flag of the Marina Militare, for which sailing and the art of navigating the sea are an integral part of the training and foundational professionalism of a sailor. The Armed Forces support all phases of the race with their 13 Sailing Sections located across the territory, within which training activities will be conducted for participation in the races. They will also provide 218 boats: 32 offshore boats, 41 coastal boats, and 145 dinghies.

In addition to the crew from the Italian Navy, sailing teams from the Sports Groups of the Armed Forces and State Bodies will participate, competing for the interforce military trophy "Amerigo Vespucci." The 2025 edition will also feature, for the third time, an overseas stage—the San Marino Grand Prix—symbolically linked to the Cattolica stage.

Support for the initiative comes from the Lega Navale (Naval League) and the Maritime and Port Authorities.

Rai and Ansa will be media partners for the project, providing dedicated events and insights.

The event is made possible thanks to the support of ENIT - Italian National Tourist Board, which is the main partner of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2025, and the Presidency of the Council - Department of Sport, as an institutional partner.

An itinerant village open to the public: The event will animate the host locations, bringing the action just meters from the quayside through stadium race formats and a race village that will allow enthusiasts and industry professionals to discover the dynamic world of the

Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour 2025. There will be an area dedicated to athletes, companies, and other partners open to the public, featuring promotional stands, meeting areas with various activities, where spectators can follow the races, fully experience the passion for the sea, sailing, and Italy's tourist beauties.

In each location, "Open Day" events will also be hosted—introductory sessions to sailing for young people, organized in collaboration with the Italian Sailing Federation. The village will be a rich opportunity to develop synergies among all participants and effectively promote their brands across sectors such as economy, culture, history, traditions, science, and technology.

Each crew has been assigned a boat named after the lighthouses that the tour will cross along its routes:

1. Faro Punta Fenaio, Isola del Giglio - Royal Madras Yacht Club (India)
2. Faro Punta Capel Rosso, Isola del Giglio - Fiamme Gialle (Italy)
3. Faro Punta Spadillo, Pantelleria - Yacht Club Sanremo (Italy)
4. Faro Capofaro, Salina Island - Baltimore Sailing Club (Ireland)
5. Faro Punta Polveraia, Elba Island - Circolo Nautico Sambenedettese (Italy)

8. Faro Punta Libeccio, Marettimo - Marina Militare (Italy)
