ILCA 4 Youth European Championships 2025 in Puck, Poland - Day 1

Racing kicked off today at the 2025 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Puck, Poland. The event was greeted with bright sunshine and ideal sailing conditions, with steady winds ranging from 11 to 14 knots.

The first set of races started at 11:00, as scheduled, on both courses. On the Alpha course, 276 boys competed across four groups (yellow, blue, red, and green), while on the Bravo course, 164 girls raced in three groups (yellow, blue, and red).

Thanks to excellent weather and skilled race management, all action on the water proceeded smoothly. Despite a few general recalls, all seven fleets completed their two races within a two-hour window. By 14:00, everyone was back ashore, ready to enjoy a spaghetti party along the promenade.

After the first two races, the provisional leaders in all championships at stake in Puck are as follows...

European Championship - Girls Overall:

European Championship - Girls Under 16:

2. Toby Waggett GBR 13 pt

Open European Trophy - Boys Overall:

1. Erik Scheidt BRA 2 pt
2. Eleftherios Tsoukatos GRE 4 pt

Two new races are scheduled for tomorrow, with the first warning signal of the day set for 11:00 (both racing areas). The bibs ceremony and coaches' meeting will take place at 09:00 at the stage in NEW Marina.

A record-breaking 440 participants from 41 countries are taking part in the 2025 ILCA Youth European Championships in Puck.

The regatta is organized by the Polish ILCA Class Association Team Poland in cooperation with the Polish Yachting Association and EurILCA, and co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Marshal's Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The event is hosted by the City of Puck, Marina Puck, and Invest Puck Sp. z o.o. Honorary patrons include the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Event partners are Devoti Sailing, Raiffeisen Bank, Best, ING for Children Foundation, WWF Poland, Uniwersytet Gdanski, and Coastal Landscape Parks. Media partners are Radio Nowy Swiat and TVP3 Gdansk.
