As a result, the official Welcome Ceremony in Grenada was postponed by five days — the first time such a delay has occurred in the event's history. Representing the Grenada Tourism Authority, Shanai St. Bernard, Manager of the Nautical Department, formally greeted the fleet and thanked participants for selecting Grenada and its sister islands Carriacou and Petite Martinique as their Caribbean destination. Zara Tremlett, Marina Manager of Port Louis Marina, congratulated sailors on completing their Atlantic crossing, acknowledging the skill and determination required to undertake such a voyage. Adding a cultural dimension to the evening, Jameson Noel of Mount Gay Rum shared insights into the history of the iconic Caribbean spirit and its ties to maritime heritage.
