The Viking Explorers Rally returns to Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina, in Grenada

by Viking Explorers Rally 10 Jul 08:51 UTC

Viking Explorers is pleased to announce that Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina in Grenada will once again serve as the official destination and one of the main sponsors for the 10th Edition of the rally, further cementing a partnership that has grown stronger with each passing year.

Recognised as part of the Caribbean's "Yachting Destination of the Year 2023", Port Louis Marina offers world-class facilities, exceptional service, and a warm welcome that has made it one of the most anticipated stops of the entire Atlantic crossing.

The experience begins before crews even enter the harbour: a dedicated marina zodiac meeting arriving yachts at the entrance to provide a personal welcome and guide them safely to their berth, which will be ready and waiting after their ocean passage. As is now tradition, every crew will be greeted with a Welcome Rum Punch — the perfect symbol of the Grenadian hospitality that awaits sailors at the finish line.

Another highlight is Port Louis Marina's popular Market Day, where local vendors bring fresh produce, spices, handmade crafts, and authentic Grenadian products directly to the dock — a wonderful opportunity for participants to discover the island's flavours and culture.

Situated on Grenada's southwest coast, Port Louis Marina provides first-class berthing for yachts of all sizes, alongside technical support, fuel services, customs and immigration clearance, shower and laundry facilities, restaurants, provisioning, and easy access to marine services. Its location also makes it an ideal base from which to explore Grenada's cruising grounds, pristine beaches, and lush interior.

What consistently sets Port Louis Marina apart, however, is its people. The marina team is renowned for going above and beyond — whether coordinating arrivals or simply offering local advice with a smile — leaving a lasting impression on every visiting crew.

For the Viking Explorers, returning to Port Louis Marina for this milestone anniversary is more than choosing a destination. It is a celebration of a partnership built on shared values: adventure, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to the international cruising community.

"We are incredibly excited to celebrate our 10th Anniversary alongside Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina," said Oliver Heinrichs, Viking Explorers rally manager. "Grenada has always offered one of the warmest welcomes of the entire rally, and we know our participants will once again arrive to the reception they deserve after crossing the Atlantic."

The 10th Anniversary Edition promises to be the most memorable in Viking Explorers' history, bringing together sailors from around the world for an unforgettable Atlantic crossing — and a truly special finish in Grenada.
