2026 Newport Bermuda Race: A parade at the finish line

by Bermuda Race Media 23 Jun 19:27 UTC June 24, 2026

A mad dash to the finish kicked off Tuesday's action from the race course following the wind's return after a lull on Monday. The members of the fleet still between the Gulf Stream and Bermuda pointed towards their destination and crossed the line one after another after another after another all day long.

The Live Standings for the race showed an incredibly close race for the legendary St. David's Lighthouse Trophy. Early Tuesday afternoon, four boats—Nicole, Towhee, Selkie, and Carina—were all within one hour of each other in estimated corrected time.

As the fleet poured into Hamilton, the bartenders at RBYC poured the Goslings Rum and the docks came alive with celebrations. The traditional reunions of friends and family as sailors disembark are some of the Bermuda Race's most cherished moments, and today proved no different with more smiles and hugs than Dark 'N Stormies out on the docks.

Today's penultimate episode of the Gulf Stream Show Powered by Palm Beach Motor Yachts has more on the arriving pack and those few boats still on the race course. In Episode 4, Lauren Zike catches up with the double-handed team of David Southwell and Erica Lush aboard Alchemy, the young crew of Crazy Horse, and the Finnish team aboard Galiana. Around-the-world sailor Rich Wilson joins us as our expert analyst, and we step aboard Gesture, the yacht that won the Newport Bermuda Race 80 years ago.

The final Gulf Stream Show episode airs tomorrow and the picture of the 2026 trophy winners comes more and more into focus. Stay tuned to BermudaRace.com/News, the Race Tracker, and the results for more!
