World ARC - In the meantime in St-Helena

In the meantime in St-Helena... After some 1700NM the 16 yachts from the World ARC arrived in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean in Jamestown on the Island of St-Helena. A special place to be for our six British boats which remind them a little taste of England but for sure a very special feeling for all our fleet to make landfall on this island only accessible by boat.

The yachts were moored in Jamestown bay for few days where they took time to explore the island going on a tour provided by the St-Helena tourism board. The participants climb up the 699 steps of the Jacob’s ladder to enjoy the view of Jamestown Bay, went to see the famous Napoleon’s tom, they met ashore for barbeque, curry, rice and roast dinner organized by the St-Helena Yacht Club who also provided them welcome packs and useful information about the island on arrival.

Some boats managed to get their sails repair as well as doing some metal works with the local who also arranged re-fuelling for the boats as the predicted wind for the next 1900NM to Salvador should be pretty light. Finally before the boats started to depart, participants went for an unforgettable experience and went snorkelling with the biggest fish in the world always present at this time of the year around St-Helena, the Whale Shark!

The 16 yachts are now sailing back to South America where they visited Colombia some 12 months ago, the first boats are expecting to arrive around the first of February in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.

Loads of amenity - Goes like a cut cat
As the first Cure 55 steps closer to being splashed it looked more like a Purosangue to me As the first Cure 55 steps ever closer to being splashed, I could not help thinking that it was a lot like the Ferrari Purosangue. More space than your typical two-seat hypercar, yet with the punch to dispatch distances and pretenders with complete ease.
