Beneteau Oceanis 62 - Elegant innovation

by Flagstaff Marine on 15 Sep 2017
Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62 Nicolas Claris
The Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62 is a truly exceptional boat, with a clean, unencumbered deck and reassuring design that is balanced and manoeuvrable, a chined hull, twin rudders for better control, and a perfectly balanced sail plan. She is state-of-the-art elegance on water, with luxurious and spacious light-bathed interiors, smooth sailing lines, easily managed sail plans and attention to detail.

The electronically controlled hydraulic rear platform is designed like a terrace over the sea, and an outdoor galley allows you to entertain from the cockpit. The first in a new range, this new world yacht designed by Beneteau stems from a collaboration between Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design and the Italian stylist Pierrangelo Andreani.

62 on deck

The Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62 is a truly exceptional boat, with a clean, unencumbered deck and reassuring design that is balanced and manoeuvrable, a chined hull, twin rudders for better control, and a perfectly balanced sail plan. The new Oceanis Yacht 62 has a brand new deck plan and new silhouette, with six sun beds distributed between the stern of the yacht, cockpit, coachroof and foredeck.

The innovative bimini is like a hard top with an opening roof, so it can easily support solar panels or a wind turbine and you stay in control of the on-deck ambience. The transom opens wide creating a rear platform designed like a terrace over the sea, accessed by a few safe steps located on either side of the dinghy garage. And the easily accessible dinghy garage makes launching so much easier.

The entire aft deck serves as a sunpad and hides a galley module below. An electrically activated grill, sink and prep station levitate out of the transom, allowing the chef to be a part of the action on board while preparing meals. Sink, drink holders, lights, chopping board, fridge…a brand new kind of outdoor luxury on board.

62 Interior

Six gentle steps lead down from the cockpit at a 45-degree angle with handrails on both sides. The elegant Oceanis Yacht 62 is all about clean lines, smooth surfaces and hidden functionality, especially in the galley where you’ll find hiding behind the cabinetry and counter a microwave, three-burner stove-oven combination, top and side-loading refrigeration, icemaker, wine cooler, dishwasher and twin sinks.

To port is a very large dinette with settees so wide, they feel like loungers. The electric high-low folding table in the middle is built of solid wood, and to starboard is a straight-line galley, divided from the saloon by a console that holds a pop-up flatscreen TV and a bar.

The unique layout of the Oceanis Yacht 62 is designed around a spacious saloon, and private cabins. The master stateroom forward offers a generous amount of real living space: plenty of room to move about the cabin without bumping into things, large hanging lockers and drawers, book shelves and reading lamps, and a number of other smart treatments to make an overnight or an extended cruise a real joy.

Bathed in light by huge hull portholes, Beneteau have introduced personal choice with this new range. Add a touch of you to the glorious Oceanis Yacht 62 , with impressive customization options and materials, and exclusive woodwork finishes.
