Australian based Marten Yachts, a brand of Azzura Marine, continues to gain momentum with the recent sale of the seventh Marten 49 cruising yacht to an Australian client.
Securing the sale of the Marten 49 to a Sydney based client has been a welcome development for Jason Rowed, Sales Manager for Marten Yachts.
'Not only is it great to confirm the seventh order, but to have sold it to a Sydney client who will keep it at the CYCA is fantastic for the local market.
'This will give Marten Yachts a real breakthrough in Australia with the ability of showcasing the Marten 49 to people in there own time. The Marten 49 is a world class product and we are very proud to show it off', Rowed explained.
To date five of the seven Marten 49’s sold have been to European owners so it has proved difficult to showcase the boat in the Southern hemisphere. 'The future of Marten Yachts in Australia and Europe looks very positive and we are excited about what lays ahead,' Rowed comments.
Marten 49 number four, launched at the 2006 Sydney International Boat Show, is on her way to the south of France where her owner will be using the M49 primarily for cruising, but is looking forward to scheduling a few racing events as well.
Number five of the Marten 49’s is destined for a New Zealand owner and will be launched and commissioned in Mid October on Sydney Harbour. She will then be sailed to New Zealand to compete in local regattas prior to Christmas.
Marten 49 number six is for European owners and is due to be delivered late this year, and then shipped to the UK. The owners are new to yacht racing and have decided the Marten 49 fits, what they believe, is the perfect dual purpose yacht to meet their needs.
Number seven of this prestigious range is the first Marten 49 sold to Australian owners and is a direct result of viewing the Marten 49 at the Sydney International Boat Show. The prospective owners followed this viewing with a test sail on Sydney Harbour. This Marten will be launched in March next year and the owners will be using the yacht mainly for coastal and harbour cruising.
With recent emphasis being focussed on the Marten 49 Rowed says, since the 49 has gained momentum he will start to focus on the other models in the Marten Yachts range.
