Swiss Finn dinghy skipper Peter Theurer reshaped his light weather sail at the Doyle-Fraser Rushcutters Bay loft this morning.
Theurer believes perfect sail shapes will give him the chance to finish with his target of a top ten finish.
"My light weather Mylar-Polyester sail has stretched a little on the leech and it has been necessary to make sure it will work perfectly on the race course". He Said.
The 98 kg 192cm sailor has developed a good sailing knowledge of the wind systems on Sydney Harbour having raced in the Pre-Olympic regatta, and the New South Wales and Australian National championships last December.
Theurer has been sailing Finns for seven years and missed selection for the 1996 Olympics at Savannah, as expected he is personally thrilled to make his Olympic debut on Sydney Harbour.
"It's a perfect sailing venue for Finn racing and I am looking forward to having a successful regatta".
"There is very little margin for error which is the reason why I am personally searching for more chances to improve my boatspeed".
"Re-shaping the sail is part of the error elimination process". he Said.
Theurer presently ranked 16th in the World admitted he had his 'back to the wall' but was realistic about gaining a career best result.
