Three dimensional images of Sydney Yacht's eagerly awaited new Sydney 32 One Design yacht are now on-line. The Sydney 32 will be unveiled at the 2002 Sydney Boat Show and following in the footsteps of the very successful Sydney 38 One Design, the Sydney 32 is ready to impress.
It has been designed by Murray, Burns and Dovell to be a fast, easily managed, traditionally seaworthy, yet technologically advanced yacht with a comfortable interior that belies its size.
The Sydney 32's modern non-overlapping rig, large open cockpit and
welcoming interior make this yacht both a pleasure and reward to sail.
The all-new design achieves this by carrying a moderate displacement and
easily handled sail plan.
The impressive interior with large saloon area, modular styling and
complementing timber finish presents an air of size and comfort. For
racers, the large navigation area and saloon storage offers the space to
work effortlessly. For cruisers the twin double berths with large saloon and cockpit makes entertaining a breeze.
The Sydney 32 is ocean ready. A one-piece GRP laminated structural grid
incorporates the keel attachment, mast step, engine mount and rudder
bearing for strength and durability and all subframes and bulkheads are
glassed into place. Exceeding ABS standards, the deck strength is the
same as the topsides.
Labour intensive for sure, but the result is a tough sturdy boat, built
to last whether going to Hobart or in Sailing School and Charter use or
just for the owner's peace of mind. Built in Sydney Yachts modern ISO
9002 certified construction facility, the Sydney 32 is constructed to
comply with Waterways regulations for charter vessels (as are the 38s)'
The Sydney 32 One Design comes race ready, with its top quality
Whalespar racing rig, a custom running rigging package, its recessed
racing wheel and high quality deck gear as standard. On top of that it
has all the necessary racing kit, spinnaker blocks, clips and sheets as
part of the same standard package.
Importantly the Sydney 32 will have a One Design Class association based
on the very successful Sydney 38 model. Sydney 38 owners are strong in
their praise of Sydney Yachts foresight in promoting the Class development. This has been instrumental in retaining excellent resale value across the fleet.
