The preparations started early in Kalamis marina at Istanbul. The crews prepared the boats and made the final adjustments before racing.

The weather was not very promising and dark clouds were gathered above Bosphorus Strait. Eventually the skies cleared and a light breeze filled the gulf.

At 17.30pm, the race committee had set the racecourse and started the practice race. The boats had a clear start and the fleet split as soon as they started. The left side was more favorable and Komet did not let that chance go away. He took advantage of the shift and rounded the upwind mark far ahead.

As the rest of the boats followed, the wind started to drop dramatically. The race committee had to shorten the race on the first downwind, but it was a good test for sailors and organizers to make their final testing before the races start tomorrow.

The start tomorrow is at 11am and the schedule has windward-leeward races for the 50 boats that are registered. Stay tuned for more news and results. You can also get connected to Boshporus Cup through the new iPad application named BC Live.
