The World ARC fleet is currently on their final stages of exploring the Galapagos. They have spent the last week and a half exploring the islands of San Cristobal and Isabela.

Puerto Villamil located on Isabela, the largest of the Galapagos islands, has proven a very popular destination. Long white sandy beaches, where you can find penguins, iguanas, flamingos and sea lions. Walk just out of town where you can see flamingos and giant tortoises, and finally a small protected anchorage where sting and manta rays as well as reef sharks swim around the boats giving you a chance to witness wildlife in their natural habitat. Safety checks took place before the participants had a chance to get a water taxi ashore.

Most of the fleet is now in their last port of call in the Galapagos, Puerto Ayora, in Santa Cruz. Here they are having a chance to enjoy all sort of tours and also resupply on gas, gasoline, petrol, water and provisioning at local markets and stores in order to be ready to depart to the longest leg of the Rally, Galapagos to Hiva Oa.

The fleet will be ready to depart across to the Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia on Wednesday 28th February at 1200LT (UTC -6) after the Skippers briefing, Prize-Giving and crew supper taking place next week.
