by World Cruising Club 16 Oct 2018 05:36 UTC

After sailing approximately 2350 nautical miles, Influencer, a Dufour 56 Exclusive was the first of the World ARC 2018-19 fleet to arrive in Port Louis, Mauritius. Having completed the passage in 12 days and 12 hours, she was followed in closely by Emily Morgan, who were leading the way across the Indian Ocean for almost half of this leg.

The quiet Cauden Basin in Port Louis has come alive with rally atmosphere over the last few days. Transformed to a vibrant marina with yachts dressed, boat parties and welcoming new arrivals has made for a great spectacle and an exciting place to be.

Amongst the first to arrive in Mauritius include, Air Power, Madrigal, Smoke and Roses, Cayuse, Aurora Polaris, Mischief, Aranui and Pinta who were all well received with delicious local fruit and vanilla rum offerings.

Mad Monkey is due to arrive this afternoon and will be followed by PretAixte, Callisto, Lydia and Blue Pearl a day later. Le Aum, Timshel and Adrienne are expected to arrive Wednesday the 17th and finally Spirit of Catherine and Misto will bring up the rear.
