The World ARC fleet crossed the start line of Leg 7 today, Thursday 25 July 2019, at 1100hrs. The conditions were near perfect with an 11kts breeze from the south east providing the boats with a beam reach sail out towards the Coral Sea.

It was a battle of the family boats who took start line honours. First over the line was Charm, hotly pursued by Aurora B who were holding a very fine pace. Next was Alora, then Babsea, followed by SKY and Danica I.

The route for Leg 7 is some 1200NM from Port Vila Vanuatu to Mackay, North East Australia. The fleet are expected to take a week to reach the finish line and the half way mark for World ARC 2019-20.

Sadly this was the final start line for yellow shirts, Andrew and SWade, who have been the continuity support since the very first start back in January. They both commented "every start has been unique and very memorable. Being able to support and help each boat prepare for their onward journey is a real pleasure and the excitement when the fleet crosses the line is incredibly emotional for us."

The yellow shirts make their way to Australia by air and look forward to welcoming the fleet into Mackay Marina next week and preparing another exciting programme of events for everyone.
