Sea Shepherd is back in the Upper Gulf of California in preparation for Operation Milagro VI with The M/V Sharpie being fitted to carry out a very important vaquita spotting expedition. With approximately 15 vaquitas left, there is no time to waste or the endangered porpoise could disappear within a year.

Sea Shepherd is collaborating with leading scientists from the USA and Mexico and experts from CONANP (Comisión Nacional de Áreas Marinas Protegidas) to show the world this critically endangered porpoise is fighting for survival. This expedition will allow scientists to gather photographic data to be able to properly identify and track the critically endangered porpoises - information crucial for their conservation and net retrieval operations.

Sea Shepherd is grateful to be able to participate in this important collaboration and is committed to protecting the vaquita porpoise from extinction.
