Crown-of-thorns are a naturally occurring coral predator on the Great Barrier Reef. Outbreaks of the starfish throughout the Reef are one of the three major causes of coral decline across the Reef.
With the Crown-of-thorns Starfish Control Program receiving long-term funding commitment for the first time ever, the program is well-equipped to manage these outbreaks.
