As this top ten of super pictures of wonderful boats reaches its climax, we can now focus down on the inspiration behind the idea: Fareham based boatbuilder extraordinaire Jack Chippendale.

As we'll learn tomorrow, Jack had that rare gift, where he could meld the eye of an artist for beauty yet at the same time, turn that vision into the best performing boats of the day.

This then is one of Jack's creations, loving restored and looking as good now as it did when it left his workshop.
