by Pep Portas 4 Feb 2024 19:35 UTC 31 January - 4 February 2024

Sara and Isa Momplet continue to lead in 29er, after the third day for the class, while Terol leads in the Finn, Bermúdez de la Puente and Pumariega in the Snipe and the tandem Fracés-Gil in Vaurien, with three and two races completed in these classes.

The Olympic Week of the Comunitat Valenciana, at its headquarters in Valencia, continues to advance. Third day for the 29er and first for the Snipe, Finn and Vaurien in a day that has again had the wind against, although arriving late to the appointment at the end has allowed to complete three races for all of them. The 29er, with scoring test for the Eurocup and valid for the championship of Spain, will compete tomorrow the final round, after closing 6 tests in these three days, it is recalled that yesterday were grounded without being able to sail.

Sara and Isa Momplet, unstoppable in 29er

The tandem of the RCN of Valencia, formed by Sara and Isa Momplet continue unstoppable, although today they have gone from more to less. Partial triumph in the first race, while in the second two they sealed their participation with 4-5 partials, this last result is the one they take away, after the discard.

Behind another crew, Paula and Isabel Laiseca (RCN Gran Canaria). Regular today, but with successes that allow them to stick to the Momplet, as they close the day tied with them at 10 points. In the first of the day, blue group, they also scored a victory and in the other two a 3rd and a 2nd, better numbers than the Valencians.

Mateo and Simón Codoñer (RCN Valencia) climb positions in the table. Now they are third in the overall absolute and first in the men's category. They have 12 points with results today of 2-1-1 in the blue group.

Bermúdez-Pumariega lead in the Snipe class

Two races for the Snipe with the favorites in front. Martín Bermúdez de la Puente (RCN Madrid) and Ángela Pumariega (RCR Astur) are leaders with 1-3 numbers, adding 4 points. With one more, and second, are Joaquín Armengot (RCM Santander) and Jovi Marzal (RCN Valencia), with 3-2 results. The provisional bronze is shared by Fabio and Andre Rosa Burggioni (RCN Madrid) with 6-1 and 7 points, the same as the locals Agustín Zabalua and Juanlo Granados (RCN Valencia). The home team closes the day with a 2-5 score.

David Terol presents his credentials in the Finn class

In the Finn class, with 19 boats, the Catalan David Terol (CN Hospitalet-Vandellós) is the leader thanks to a third place and two wins in the last two races. Miguel Fernández (RCN Coruña) is seven points behind and second in the table, while Paco Castañer (CN Llanfranc), with 13 points, is third.

The Vaurien fleet is led by Carlos Francés and Susana Gil

As far as the Vaurien class is concerned, no surprises. The local Carlos Francés and Susana Gil (RCN Valencia) are first with 4 points, tied with Alain Apri (CN Hondarribia) and José Ignacio Fernández (CV Barlovento) and the other tandem of the host club: Francesco Zampacavallo and Vicente Sanchis.

The weather forecast for the fourth day forces to modify the program.

For the fourth day of the 29er, second for Finn, Snipe and Vaurien, the wind conditions do not seem to be the best, which is why the program has been modified. Delta was originally scheduled to be hoisted at 10.00 am and the start of the first race was set for 11.00 am. The committee postponed the program by one hour.
